The standard thickness for custom scratch-off cards is usually 157g, 200g, or 250g coated paper for scratch-off types, and 250g or 300g grey-backed whiteboard paper double-laminated for peel-off types. Of course, since they are custom-made, scratch-off cards can be produced in other sizes without strict limitations.

The production process for peel-off scratch cards is more complex than that of colored scratch cards and requires more materials. Because peel-off scratch cards are made by laminating two sheets of coated paper together, they are thicker and sturdier compared to other types of scratch cards. In terms of production, the side containing the prize information and the security area is printed first, while the prize-revealing side undergoes precision die-cutting. These two sides are then laminated together. The entire process is more intricate, requiring more labor and time for scratch card printing. As a result, the production cost for peel-off scratch cards is higher than that of standard scratch-off types, making them more suitable for high-value products or lottery tickets.
